AB Frei Agostinho da Cruz wrote poetry a lo divino, in vogue in the second half of the 16th century. Closely related to spiritual treatises produced in Franciscan circles or even in the Província de Arrábida, his poetry reflects a process of conversion that, without denying the worth of profane models, keep that memory alive.
