Summary:The purpose of this research study was to investigate and clarify the shared religious foundations of anthropology in Islam and Christianity and the effect of Islamic and Christian anthropology on education. Therefore, this article has two parts: 1) an identification of shared Islamic and Christian anthropology, and 2) the effect of this shared Islamic and Christian anthropology on Islamic education. In the first part, the goals of man's creation, man's personality, and man's responsibility are investigated in relation to Islam and Christianity so that a shared religious model of anthropology might be developed. In the second part of this article, the effects of such anthropology are studied and clarified in terms of Islamic education. Also in this part, the definition of education, the goals of education, and educational procedures are investigated.
