Description
Summary:Online journals (e-journals) are fast becoming a familiar feature with Religious Studies scholars, but so far no e-journals in the field have appearedin South Africa, and contributions by South African scholars are still rare. This article examines the evolution of Religious Studies e-journals, focusing on the open access variety. It then proceeds to examine a sample of openaccess e-journals relevant to Religious Studies, and considers the factors inhibiting South African scholars from participation in publishing in, and creating open-access e-journals.
