Description
Summary:Raul Hilberg und die Holocaust-Historiographie is based on a conference held in Berlin that was organized, with the support of research institutions on both sides of the Atlantic, on the tenth anniversary of Raul Hilberg’s departure (1926–2007). Listing numerous prominent contributors from Germany and North America, the volume consists of an introduction by editor René Schlott, ten scholarly articles, the transcript of a conversation between Saul Friedländer and Norbert Frei, four shorter pieces, two document publications with intros of their own—both of which provide insights into the delayed and complicated publication of Hilberg’s The Destruction of the European Jews in German—as well as thirteen additional book reviews.
