Hays attributes the difficulties to the traditional view that πίστις refers to human faith, and he suggests instead that it refers to Christ's faith(fulness). In this article, I answer specific points of Hays's argument and then trace Paul's line of reasoning in Gal 3:6-9 following the common view that Abraham parallels believers in Christ. To appreciate Paul's use of Scripture and the conclusions he draws requires understanding the concept of the metaphorical father-son relationship he introduces in v. 7. | ||
