(1) The development of religious experience as seen to be different from the acquiring of theological knowledge. (2) Religious education must be shaped by the personal needs and capacities of the child. (3) The social aspects of personal life must be understood. (4) The study of the Bible must be adapted to the pupils. (5) The best pedagogical ideals must be used. (6) The results of religious teaching must be ascertained, as a guide to further reforms. (7) The ethical problems of children must be differentiated from those of adults. (8) Defectives need special treatment. (9) Week-day instruction in religion needs wise organization. (10) A missionary and social outlook should be cultivated.
