A desire for power and control, whether financial or personal, is frequently at the heart of the betrayer's actions, just as it was for Judas. Grief, anger, frustration, and confusion are often experienced by the affected congregation, just as it was among Jesus' disciples following Judas' betrayal. Healing the injury done in a betrayal requires open acknowledgment of the betrayer's actions as well as discussion of the effects that these actions have had upon the congregation. | ||
