Resumo:Jonathan Edwards served as a missionary to the Indians and as a pastor in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, from 1751 to 1758. The following account introduces Edwards's work in Stockbridge. Particularly it deals with his attitudes toward the Indians as revealed in his preaching and letters. While viewing the Indians as culturally inferior to Europeans, he regarded them as equal in potential both spiritually and intellectually.
