Summary: | Research of pastoral counseling has generally focused on major denominations. Attempts to involve pastors from fundamental and pentecostal denominations have been only minimally successful. The present research surveyed Assemblies of God pastors in one district (West Texas) to obtain demographic, educational, and background data (independent variables) and the present level of involvement in pastoral counseling and referral (dependent variables). The resultant data were analyzed for frequency distribution for all variables, and correlations were computed for all independent variables with each dependent variable. The results were discussed and implications suggested. |
