520 |a Piagetian theory is suggested as a possible epistemological model for creating an interaction between the sciences and theology. Piaget's (1974) developmental paradigm is discussed with particular emphasis upon preoperations, concrete operations, and formal operations and their relation to reality formation and integration. Integrative and nonintegrative approaches to theology and science are traced throughout history and analogously to Piagetian thought. Kuhn's (1970) theory of scientific paradigm shifts is summarized and theology/science communication is discussed. It is concluded that science and theology are facets of a complementary continuum of epistemological systems.
