| Résumé: | Il contributo si concentra in un'analisi del cap. IX della quinta parte dell'opera principe del beato Marie-Eugène de l'Enfant Jésus: Le saint dans le Christ totale, dov'egli, in anticipo sui tempi, offre un'illustrazione pregnante, esistenzial-mente performativa e teologicamente oltreché pertinente anche audace e sfidante, di che cosa significhi e implichi - per dirlo con il linguaggio del Concilio Vaticano II - la "vocazione universale alla santità" in una Chiesa che vive se stessa come "il sacramento, in Cristo, e cioè il segno e lo strumento dell'intima unione con Dio e dell'unità di tutto il genere umano" (cf. LG, n. 1). Di questo tema si sviluppano quattro principali dimensioni: l'unione trasformante e il Cristo totale; il duplice movimento dell'amore trinitario e "trinitizzante"; la reciprocità dell'amore e il "ruolo sociale" nella missione della Chiesa; l'amore che si fa grido nel Cristo croci-fisso e il "fiat" generativo di Maria. In tutto ciò è dato rinvenire uno dei più preziosi lasciti da accogliere, sviluppare e incarnare, che padre Marie-Eugène consegna alla Chiesa nel nostro oggi. The present article focuses upon an analysis of Chapter IX of the fifth part of Blessed Marie-Eugène de l'Enfant Jésus’ main work: Le saint dans le Christ totale. As the article shows, it is a Chapter in which Fr. Marie-Eugène offers, ahead of his time, a meaningful illustration of what is meant and implied by "the universal call to holiness", to use the terms of the Second Vatican Council. Fr. Marie-Eugène's exposure of the topic is existentially performative and theologically relevant, as well as bold and challenging. It examines the call to holiness in a Church that lives "in Christ as a sacrament or as a sign and instrument both of a very closely knit union with God and of the unity of the whole human race" (cf. LG, n. 1). Four main dimensions of this theme are developed in Chapter IX of Le saint dans le Christ totale: transforming union and the total Christ; the double movement of trinitarian and "trinitizing" love; the reciprocity of love and the "social role" in the mission of the Church; the love that becomes the cry of Christ crucified and the generative "fiat" of Mary. In all of this we find one of the most precious legacies Fr. Marie-Eugène entrusts to the Church in our day, to be received, developed and embodied. |
