A badly eroded cuneiform inscription is incised to the right. According to specialists, the cuneiform signs are Babylonian, not Assyrian. It is highly probable that the king is Nabonidus, who invaded the land of Edom in 552 BC, on his way to Tayma in north eastern Hidjaz. |
