AD, they reveal an interesting aspect of the inhabitants' life in the Hauran. We can see through these poems that the penetration, the diffusion and appropriation of classical Greek literature in the country lasted a long time, thus making the Hauran a conservatory of Greek culture and civic virtues. The owners of these tombs appear to be rich landlords, former soldiers, benefactors of their cities, preferring to show their culture before their religious beliefs.
