| Résumé: | Apresentamos uma breve reflexão em torno da figura de Frédéric Ozanam (1813-1853) e da sua intervenção em defesa do Cristianismo e da Igreja Católica no debate académico e intelectual da sua época. Ozanam pugnou pelo reconhecimento da herança da cultura grega e romana que o Cristianismo transmitiu à sociedade ocidental. Foi também um dos precursores do catolicismo social, nomeadamente pela sua ligação à origem da Sociedade de S. Vicente de Paulo, tendo procurado uma terceira via entre o liberalismo económico e o dirigismo estatal. Nous présentons une brève réflexion sur Frédéric Ozanam (1813-1853) et son intervention dans la défense du christianisme et de l’Eglise catholique dans le débat académique et la scène intellectuelle. Ozanam combattu pour la reconnaissance de l’héritage de la culture grecque et romaine que le christianisme à transmis à la société occidentale. Il a été également l’un des pionniers du catholicisme social, notamment en raison de sa connexion à l’origine de la Société de Saint-Vincent-de-Paul et de sa quête pour une troisième voie entre le libéralisme économique et le dirigisme étatique. We present a brief reflection on the figure of Frédéric Ozanam (1813-1853) and his intervention in defense of Christianity and the Catholic Church in the academic debate and intellectual scene. Ozanam fought for the recognition of the heritage of Greek and Roman culture that Christianity communicated to Western society. He was also one of the pioneers of social Catholicism, particularly because of its connection to the origin of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, having sought a third way between economic liberalism and state intervention. |
