Baker is one of the scholars who have been researching this phenomenon. In this conversation Baker defines nationalism and Christian nationalism, summarizes some of the research on it in relation to its influence, mentions some of the factors that make it so appealing, notes some of its strengths but serious weakness, and provides helpful suggestions on how Christians might counter Christian nationalism's effects. Joseph O. Baker is a sociologist at East Tennessee State University, and the author and co-author of journal articles and books including Fear Itself: The Causes and Consequences of Fear in America. | ||
