Les raisons de ce désamour sont multiples et ont en grande partie à voir avec le fort regain d’intérêt pour les questions doctrinales et dogmatiques, dans le sillage de Barth, dans ces années et surtout, pour ce qui concerne le monde francophone, à partir de années1930 et1940. Auguste Lemaître, qui enseigna la dogmatique à la Faculté de théologie de l’Université de Genève pendant trente-six ans, fut de ceux qui, tout en conservant des liens amicaux avec Barth, s’opposèrent à sa théologie. Le présent article retrace diverses étapes des relations entre ces deux théologiens. | ||

The reasons for these difficulties are many and have much to do with the significant increase of interest in doctrinal and dogmatic issues, in Barth’s footsteps, in those years, especially since the 1930s and 1940s. Auguste Lemaître, who taught dogmatics at the University of Geneva during thirty-six years, was among those who, while remaining on friendly terms with Barth (for the most part), opposed his theology. The present article retraces the various phases of the exchanges between the two theologians. | ||
