Using numerous texts taken from the Penitential Books and through comparison with other contemporary sources, the paper tries to reconstruct the reasons that led the authors of the Penitential Books during the Middle Age to sanction the oneiromancy practices and to condemn natural and involuntary phenomena such as erotic dreams and the relative nocturnal emissions. |
