The article begins with select works of Augustine against Pelagius and Julian of Eclanum, and then moves to show how this theology of Augustine’s was defended by Prosper in response to Massilianism. It will be shown that what began as an articulation of original sin developed into a more holistic doctrine that presents all people as in need of the gift of God’s grace for both the beginning and perseverance of faith. | ||
