AB Artikkelen presenterer funn fra en undersøkelse og fokusgruppeintervjuer med vitenskapelig ansatte ved seks norske høyere utdanningsinstitusjoner for kirkelig tjeneste. Funnene er at informantene generelt er veldig gjestfrie overfor innvandrere, ikke spesielt skeptiske til islam, men svært skeptiske til politikere som bruker begrepet «kristne verdier» til proteksjonistiske formål. Informantene har en klar forståelse av hva kristne verdier omfatter, men tar avstand fra bruken av begrepet. For å forstå disse holdningene, trekkes ulike forhold inn, inklusive den norske politiske kulturen og den kristne tradisjonen for gjestfrihet.
AB The article presents findings from a survey and focus-group interviews with academic staff at six Norwegian higher education institutions offering programs that lead to careers in the church. The findings are that informants are generally very hospitable towards immigrants, not particularly skeptical of Islam, and highly skeptical of politicians applying the term «Christian values» for protectionist purposes. Informants have a clear understanding of what Christian values encompass, but distance themselves from the usage of the term. When seeking to understand these attitudes various issues are discussed, including the Norwegian political culture and the Christian tradition of hospitality.
