À l'aide de ces exemples, le principe du système de base de l'écriture cunéiforme alphabétique, selon lequel certains signes peuvent comporter des signes à clous en surnombre et d'autres non, est dégagé. /// Three texts in the Ugaritic language from the site of Ras Ibn Hani are striking by the fact of bearing signs that, by comparison with the forms in the standard Ugaritic script, may be said to show extra wedges. Additional wedges appear in two principal configurations: a large number of tiny wedges, of which the precise number may vary, and a truly systematic usage according to which a single wedge is added to certain sequences.
