Description
Summary:The topic of the "personal relation to God" can be considered as a theological locus among others, but also as a basic condition for theological reflexion as such. This article explores on a doctrinal level the relation between these two aspects of the "personal relation to God". First, the contemporary conditions of systematic theology as a hermeneutic of religious discourse are examined. Second, the location of the "personal relation to God" within dogmatics is considered. Finally, the article articulates the status and the place of the "personal relation to God" for contemporary theology in relation to three theological motifs, namely prayer, love, and witness, taking into account the fissure that characterizes human existence.
