Ecumenical history in Latin Americais lived history, but it must also be reflected theologically. This article seeks to identifyin this history the hermeneutic and methodological elements for a theological readingof the Latin American ecumenical movement. It is an essay on a Latin Americanecumenical theology, and analyzes the semantic evolution of the term ecumenismand the different conceptions today, and places its Christian specificity in dialoguewith other conceptions of oikoumene. The research method is a qualitative analysis ofliterature that deals with ecumenism on the continent. As a result, it hopes to proposeecumenism as a paradigm of the reflection of the Christian faith, taking a significanttheological, ecclesial, spiritual, and diaconal signifier for churches today. | ||
