This comes with the danger of denying the lived reality of the believer, ignoring how the emergence of faith and the spiritual journey as a whole engage the senses, emotions and imagination of the whole subject. This article focuses on three biblical figures (Samuel, Ezekiel, and the Jesus of the Gospel of Luke): it examines how the “seeing” dimension structures both the experience that is theirs and that of the reader of these texts. On the basis of this investigation, it suggests to entrust theological anthropology with a new task: to give greater credit to the narratives offered by the faithful who stress the “seeing” dimension of their journey (l’homme du voir) so as to better account for the variety of contemporary spiritual experiences and for the way the Spirit manifests itself into them. | ||

Le présent article étudie trois figures bibliques (Samuel, Ezéchiel, le Jésus de l’Evangile de Luc): il examine comment la dimension du «voir» structure à la fois l’expérience qui est la leur et celle du lecteur de ces textes. Il se fonde sur ce parcours pour suggérer une tâche présente de l’anthropologie théologique: faire davantage droit aux récits tenus par l’homme du voir, ce pour mieux rendre compte de la variété des expériences spirituelles contemporaines et de la façon dont l’Esprit s’y manifeste. | ||
