Résumé:This article attempts to recover the liberationist current in Asian theologies and reflect on the challenges presented to it by our dominant populist contexts. It discusses the liberation themes in Asian theologies in general; the context of Philippine liberation theologies, in particular; the challenges posed by populist movements and discourses; and, lastly, attempts to articulate some directions for liberation theologies in the times of populism.
