AB Die erste reguläre magnetische Meßkampagne 1997 mit dem SMARTMAG SM4G-Spezial des Bayerischen Landesamtes für Denkmalpflege, München, lieferte in Fortsetzung der Testkampagne 1996 Teile eines Wohnviertels östlich des Grabungsplatzes Q IV und Teile eines vorläufig als Verwaltungsviertels bezeichneten Teiles von Qantir/Piramesse zwischen den Grabungsplätzen Q I und Q III. Städtebauliche Strukturen mit z.B. Wohnhäusern vom Amarnatyp sind in den Magnetogrammen ebenso enthalten wie Tempel, oder Verwaltungsgebäude(?) unbekannter Funktion und zahlreiche kleine, ebenfalls noch nicht gedeutete Strukturen. Die Messungen werden in Abbildungen vorgestellt, deren Strukturen vorläufig angesprochen und die neueren praktischen Erfahrungen während des Meßvorganges fortgeschrieben. The first regular magnetic survey 1997 carried out by the Bayerisches Landesamt für Denkmalpflege, Munich, at Qantir/Piramesses within 14 days documented parts of a vast living quarter east of site Q IV. Between sites Q I and Q III structures were detected which are tentatively labelled "administrative" city districts. Whilst the settlement area consists mainly of houses of the tripartite Amarna-type, the so-called "administrative" area contains temples and sanctuaries as well as buildings of unknown function. Along with the presentation of the magnetograms the structures within them are discussed in a first step, continuing also the report on further and - in regard to the test run of 1996 - new practical experiences.
