Non esistono, però, definizioni su questo punto e la questione ha assunto aspetti delicati dopo l'insegnamento del Vaticano I circa le condizioni di esercizio del magistero infallibile e le discussioni al Vaticano II circa l'oggetto proprio della infallibilità. L'Autore dopo aver mostrato le difficoltà teologiche e pastorali cui vanno incontro le diverse soluzioni, propone l'ipotesi, di comprendere la canonizzazione come atto di magistero ordinario definitivo. With regard to the canonization of Saints, the majority opinion from St. Thomas up to now is inclined to consider it as an act of infallible papal magisterium. There do not exist, however, definitions on this specific issue, and the question has become delicate after the teaching of the First Vatican Council concerning the conditions for the exercise of infallible magisterium as well as after the teaching of the Second Vatican Council concerning infallibility's proper object. The Author, after showing the theological and pastoral difficulties derived from the various solutions, proposes the hypothesis of understanding the canonization of Saints as an act of definitive ordinary magisterium. | ||
