In questo contesto può essere utile, nel decimo anniversario della sua morte, fare memoria dell'importante contributo fornito dal p. P. Beauchamp (1924-2001) in vista di un ripensamento critico dell'esegesi tipologica dei Padri in contesto contemporaneo. Tale esegesi ha come noto al suo centro il rapporto tra Antico e Nuovo Testamento, che l'autorevole esegeta gesuita propone di rileggere alla luce della polisemanticità delle Scritture ebraiche (deuterosi), da lui ben evidenziata grazie all'apporto della linguistica contemporanea. L'esito sarebbe allora una riconciliazione tra esegesi patristica e metodo storico-critico, dove la prima guadagnerebbe un rinnovamento e un approfondimento critico, conservando le sue istanze teologicamente decisive, mentre il secondo troverebbe la sua giustificazione teologica senza perdere il suo statuto propriamente scientifico. The post synodal exhortation Verbum Domini (2010) has emphasized the centrality of the relationship between historical-critical exegesis and theological exegesis of Scripture. Exegetes and theologians are invited to deepen this theme as vital to the future of the Church.In making a critical appraisal of the typological exegesis of the Fathers in a contemporary context, it is helpful to remember the important contribution of Fr. P. Beauchamp (1924-2001) on this the tenth anniversary of his death. Such an exegesis has at its heart the relationship between the Old and the New Testament, which this authoritative Jesuit exegete proposes to be reread in the light of the many-layered meanings of the Hebrew Scriptures, which he demonstrated with the aid of contemporary linguistics (deuterosi). The outcome of such a study would be a reconciliation between Patristic exegesis an historical-critical method, in which the first would be renewed by a profound criticism, preserving its theological importance, while the second would find a theological justification without losing its legitimate scientific status. | ||
