Después de una breve presentación histórica sobre la expresión, con el fin de conocer la intencionalidad que encierra, se pasa a ver cómo debe ser esta relación entre la Escritura y la teología. Para ello se tienen en cuenta los principios que el mismo documento Dei Verbum ofrece para interpretar la Escritura con el mismo espíritu con que fue escrita (cfr. DV 12); por lo tanto si por una parte es fácil darse cuenta que la teología necesita de la Escritura, por otro también la Escritura necesita de la teología. Pero en esta relación entran otros elementos irrenunciables, como son la Tradición y la Revelación. Teniendo en cuenta esto, así como la necesidad y no suficiencia de la Escritura para la teología (que necesita de otros elementos, como por ejemplo la filosofía y el diálogo con el mundo), se propone entre ellas una relación de circularidad donde todo está al servicio de la Palabra de Dios. The article presents reflection upon the relationship between Scripture and theology, taking as its starting point an axiom based on two texts of the Second Vatican Council: Sacred Scripture should be taken as «the very soul of theology» (DV 24; OT 16). A brief presentation of the history of this expression aims at bringing to light its meaning. Next, the author studies the way that Scripture and theology should be related. This involves taking into account another principle from Dei Verbum which commends that Scripture be interpreted in the same spirit in which it was written (cfr. DV 12). Although it may, indeed, be straightforward to realize that theology requires Scripture, it is also necessary to realize that Scripture requires theology. However, other indispensable elements, such as Tradition and Revelation, also enter into this relationship. Taking all these factors into account, as well as the insufficiency of Scripture for theology (which requires other elements such as philosophy and dialogue with the world), a relationship of circularity between Scripture and theology is proposed which is at the service of the Word of God. | ||
