Despite the ever-increasing participation of non-Christian nations in international life, the Catholic Church is still very present on the world scene. Is this merely a vestige of the dominant role the Church played in international relations in the past? Or is it rather because today the Church is recognized as having a specific function in our pluralistic world? The present article underlines the specific function of the Church in today's world, and examines especially the Church's focus on charity as the basis of Christian participation in international life. | ||
