This analysis arrives at the following definition of technique in the history of human progress: the study and the use of suitable means of achieving a certain purpose. Then the essay briefly sketches "scientific and technological society" as the most recent stage in the development of technique. Special consideration is given to some of the legal questions which arise from the growth of technology. In the next part the essay deals with the problems with which technology confronts the philosophy of law: in fidelity to the ontology of being, philosophy of law must be interested in individual problems, e.g., peace, crises in democracy, and demographic exploitation. Consequently, the more global problem of contemporary evolution is considered, as well as the revision of the concepts of the general theory and the relations between technique, philosophy, and rights studied as human activities. Finally, the essay proposes a new historical-existential methodology for the study of the philosophy of law. | ||
