AB L'article analyse l'intervention décisive de Mariano Rampolla del Tindaro, secrétaire de la nonciature apostolique de Madrid (1875-1877), nonce apostolique en Espagne (1882-1887) et cardinal secrétaire d'État (1887-1903), dans la nomination des évêques espagnols. Dans la majorité des cas Rampolla a recommandé les candidats du Saint-Siège et a essayé d'écarter ceux du Gouvernement. The article analyses the intervention of Mariano Rampolla del Tindaro, secretary of Apostolic Nunciature at Madrid (1875-1877), Apostolic Nuntius in Spain (1882-1887) and Cardinal Secretary of the State (1887-1903), in the election of Spanish bishops. In the majority of the cases considered, Rampolla recommended the candidate of the Holy See and attempted to have set aside that of the Gouvernement.
