The object of the present investigation is to make clear the canonical situation, according to the decrees of the Sacred Congregation of Bishops and Religious, of religious females in France after the Revolution of 1789 and during the subsequent period of restoration (the first four decades of the 19th century). The author also provides unedited documents from the same Congregation concerning oratories, the practice of medicine by religious, visits, the administration of personal property, the use of material goods, etc. | ||
