Questo intervento intende rivisitare questa classica figura argomentativa esplicitandone la dimensione pragmatica. Infatti, l’élenchos è l’autentico compimento di una riconduzione a contraddizione performativa, in cui chi intende negare le strutture trascendentali, per ciò stesso implicitamente le esercita (inficiando la propria negazione). Questa dinamica è riscontrabile sia nelle forme di negazione effettuale che in quelle di negazione verbalistica di tali strutture. La posizione qui sostenuta è poi confrontata con due autorevoli posizioni: quella di Gustavo Bontadini e quella di Emanuele Severino. Il secondo – nella fase più matura del suo pensiero – tende a ridurre l’élenchos a un caso di riduzione all’assurdo. Entrambi, comunque, non considerano l’aspetto pragmatico dell’élenchos – e quindi la sua fondamentale peculiarità. Elenchus is the argumentative method whereby human thought experiences the transcendentality of being and its aspects. This article seeks to revisit the classic method of argumentation, known as elenchus, in order to explicitly consider its pragmatic dimensions. Élenchus is the complete realization of performative contradiction, in which those who intend to deny transcendental structures simultaneously undermine themselves. Such dynamics is implicated in both the actual negation of the transcendental structures and the verbal denial of such structures. The position expressed in this article is subsequently compared with two authoritative positions: Gustavo Bontadini and Emanuele Severino. The second – in his more mature thought – tends to reduce elenchus to a simple case of reductio ad absurdum. Both, however, do not consider the pragmatic aspect of elenchus – and, therefore, its fundamental peculiarity. | ||
