520 |a Jean François Malherbe has always sought to apply to the various areas of its philosophy the research of « third ». The meeting with the other overcomes the disjunctive and excluding logic of « aut-aut » with the contextual and inclusive of « et-et ». It brings out from the narrowness of having to be necessarily a thing or its opposite. The result is thus perhaps the most qualifying concept of Malherbe’s philosophy, namely the “theory of the third included”, which he applied in particular to the domain of ethics.
