Al contrario, importa rilevare con rigorosa attenzione critica quali sono i principi fondamentali del nostro esistere in quanto «eventi di verità». La «philosophia perennis» non può irrigidirsi nella ripetizione di formule cristallizzate, ma deve farsi umilmente partecipe di una vivente «traditio»: potrà cogliere allora, insieme con la lettera luminosa e irrinunciabile dei maestri, anche una scintilla del loro incendio spirituale e potrà trarre dalle cose antiche anche parole nuove. We can turn to metaphysics without passing over the knowledge of entities in order to try to reach the unverifiable, but by reevaluating in transparency the lofty paths of the spirit: «in interiore homine habitat veritas». However, mistaking the philosophical inner being for the diverse forms of psychological intimism would be misleading. On the contrary it is important to highlight, with the most critical awareness, what the fundamental principles of our existence as «events of Truth» are. The «philosophia perennis» cannot restrict itsel to the repetition of formulas, but has to become part of a living «traditio»: it will be thus able to grasp, along with the bright and fundamental teaching of philosophers, a spark of their spiritual fire, so as to draw from the old discourse new words. | ||
