The metaphor of musical man is a part of the speculative theory of music as well as of the theological, philosophical and medical tradition. To analyse some of the characteristics of this metaphorical figure and the use of musical analogy in some precise examples allows us to understand the peculiarity of musical metaphor to define, among other things, man: his sensible and intelligible dimension, his soul and body, his heart and gesture, his interiority and its manifestation. | ||
