Dès sa jeunesse, elle s'est engagée dans de nombreuses œuvres et, pendant trente ans, elle a codirigé l'Institution des Diaconesses. Son investissement pour une amélioration de la condition féminine l'a naturellement portée à être élue comme première présidente du Conseil national des Femmes françaises. A hundred years ago Sarah Monod died. She was considered the representative and best known French feminist, above all for her work as a social reformer. From an early age she participated in numerous organizations and for thirty years was a co-director of the 'Deaconesses' institution. She worked hard to improve the condition of women and was the natural choice as first elected president of the 'National council of French women'. Vor hundert Jahren starb Sarah Monod. Sie galt als soziale Reformatorin und war damals wohl die bekannteste französische Feministin und als solche die Vertreterin dieser Bewegung. Schon als junge Frau war sie in unzähligen sozialen Einrichtungen engagiert und war 30 Jahre lang Mit-Leiterin der Diakonissen. Dank ihrem Engagement für eine Besserung der Situation der Frau wurde sie ganz natürlich als erste Präsidentin des Nationalrates der französischen Frauen gewählt. | ||
