Il contribue ainsi à l'étude des cultures confessionnelles du second XVIe siècle, en confrontant la construction savante des identités collectives à la réalité d'une pratique intellectuelle dotée de règles et de conventions propres. L'exemple des calendriers historiques de Kaspar Goldtwurm (1524-1559) fait ressortir, entre histoire universelle et histoire de l'Église, une distinction irréductible de registres de langue et de pensée qui amène à s'interroger sur le degré de «confessionalisabilité» de l'historiographie à l'âge de la confessionnalisation. Sixteenth century Lutheran historiography assumed an intermediate position between the construction of group memory and relatively autonomous scholarship. The confessionalization of historiography and its function as a discourse of confessional identity was limited by historiographical conventions. The investigation of two Lutheran historical calendars exemplifies the different modes of language generated within the discourses of universal and church history and the differences in the degree to which historiography was confessionally structured. Die lutherische Geschichtsschreibung des 16. Jahrhunderts stand zwischen Gruppengedächtnis und relative autonomer Gelehrsamkeit. Die Konfessionalisierung der Historiographie und ihre Funktion als konfessioneller Identitätsdiskurs brach sich an historiographischen Konventionen. Am Beispiel zweier lutherischer Geschichtskalender wird gezeigt, daß universal- und kirchengeschichtlicher Diskurs verschiedene Sprachregister und damit auch Differenzen in der konfessionellen Durchdringung der Geschichtsschreibung generieren. | ||
