Aussi l'auteur considère-t-il que le protestantisme, fort de son histoire, contribuerait utilement à la discussion en proposant des concepts plus pertinents, et en adoptant, dans le débat sur la laïcité, une position originale qui n'abandonne pas le terrain aux catholiques et aux athées.Enfin il plaide pour un protestantisme accordé au monde moderne, qui fasse pénétrer dans la pensée chrétienne une conception positive de la sécularisation.» The debate about Islamic headscarves has created a renewed interest in the 'religious question' in Europe, which has been further confused by the abusive use of the term 'religion' in contexts where it does not belong. The author argues that Protestantism, given its particular history, could usefully contribute to the discussion by putting forward more pertinent concepts and by adopting an original position in the debate about secularization which does not leave the field free for the Catholics and the atheists. He calls for a Protestantism in harmony with the modern world, which could introduce a more positive idea of secularization into Christian thought Seit dem Kopftuchstreit hat die Frage nach der Bedeutung der Religion in Europa neues Interesse gewonnen. In vielen Bereichen kann man geradezu einen inflationären Gebrauch das Begriffs "Religion" feststellen, dem meistens keine präzisen inhaltlichen Vorstellungen entsprechen. Deswegen sieht der Autor einen Beitrag des Protestantismus zur gegenwärtigen Diskussion in der Wahl konturenschärferer Begriffe. Einen weiteren Beitrag erhofft er sich von einer differenzierten Position in der Laizismusdebatte, um das Feld nicht nur den Katholiken und den Atheisten zu überlassen. Schliesslich plädiert er für einen mit der modernen Welt verträglichen Protestantismus, der eine positiv verstandene Säkularisierung in das christliche Denken einbezieht. | ||
