Cette étude propose de découvrir le réformateur Antoine de Chandieu sous le nom de «La Croix». A l'époque considérée, le fameux poète-pasteur venait de signer une lettre à Jean Calvin du même pseudonyme. Il arrive aussi que les thèmes principaux de l'œuvre ne soient pas sans rapport avec la vie de Chandieu. The subject of a «Tragi-comedie» published circa 1561 by a certain A. de La Croix is drawn from the story of Nebuchadnezzar and the three Hebrew children in the fiery furnace. The playwright, who was undoubtedly of the Calvinist persuasion and who even claimed to be a member of Antoine de Bourbon's personal entourage, has nevertheless remained an entirely obscure figure. The present study points to the Reformer Antoine de Chandieu as the likely author. During the time period in question, the celebrated pastor and poet had just signed a letter to Jean Calvin under the same pseudonym of «La Croix». It so happens as well that the main themes of the work are not without parallel to Chandieu's own life. Das Thema der «Tragi-comedie», die um 1561 von einem gewissen A. de La Croix veröffentlicht wurde, ist die Geschichte von Nehukadnezar und den drei jungen Männern im Feuerofen. Der Dichter, der zweifelsohne calvinistischer Überzeugung war und vielleicht sogar im Gefolge von Antoine de Bourbon war, ist bis heute eine rätselhafte Figur geblieben. Dieser Aufsatz weist nach, dass Antoine de Chandieu höchstwahrscheinlich als Autor in Frage kommt. Während der hier hesprochenen Zeitperiode hat der gefeierte Pastor und Dichter einen Brief an Johannes Calvin adressiert, den er mit demselben Pseudonym – «La Croix» – unterzeichnet hat. Darüber hinaus weist das Werk Parallelen zu Chandieus Leben auf. |
