Les pasteurs, grâce à la correspondence de l'un d'eux, Jacques Couët-du-Vivier, sont ici observés à la lumière de la carrière des écrivains. Non seulement un certain nombre de contraintes et de possibilités d'actions dans le monde social apparaissent communes aux uns et aux autres, mais en outre, les normes et les pratiques de l'espace socio-intellectuel des belles-lettres exercent une forte influence sur la carrière et les écrits des ministres. How would a minister make a career for himself in the XVIIth century ? How and with whom could he build his reputation, which was crucial to find a position as a minister in a wealthy and well-known church ? In his correspondence with his famous grand-father, Paul Ferry, a young blind minister, Jacques Couët-du-Vivier, tells about his doubts and his hopes, his plans and his moves to make a reputation and gain success within the French protestant community. This correspondence reveals that, in the XVIIth century, a minister's strategy was very close to a writer's. Moreover, the ministers were influenced by the rules and customs of the socio-intellectual field of letters and tended to conform to them in their writings and their strategies of publication. Wie haben die reformierten Geistlichen des 17. Jahrhunderts Karriere gemacht ? Wie wurde jener gute Ruf erreicht, der zur Erlangung einer Predigerstelle unverzichtbar war, und bei wem sollte man diesen Ruf konstruieren ? Anhand des Briefivechsels von Jacques Couët du Vivier werden hier die Prediger- und Schriftstellerkarrieren im französischen Reformiertentum in vergleichender Perspektive zusammengestellt. Dabei erweisen sich manche Gemeinsamkeiten in Bezug auf die Handlungsmöglichkeiten sowie -unmöglichkeiten, die beiden Berufsgruppen entgegenkamen. Ferner wird demonstriert, wie stark die Normen und Praktiken des sich damals im Entstehungsprozess befindenden sozial-intellektuellen Raums der belles-lettres die Karrieren und Schriften im Geistlichen Amt mitgeprägt haben. | ||
