The registers of the Chapels of the Swedish and Danish embassies in Paris during the XVIIIth century mention a number of records concerning foreign Lutheran merchants trading in the French seaports of the Atlantic or English Channel coast. A careful examination of these records reveals a matrimonial policy, which enabled the individuals concerned to raise funds to equip their ships and to obtain cargoes, while allowing them rapidly to become part of the community. It was a triangular tactic, involving cloth manufacturers from Picardy and Normandy, and a number of members of the Protestant banking élite in Paris. Eine detaillierte Fntzifferung o.a.
