Le plan plus ou moins circulaire en est très caractéristique. Mais d'où l'idée en est-elle venue ? Cinq hypothèses sont examinées ici : 1° un modèle italien, lui-même inspiré par le Panthéon de Rome ; 2° une réminiscence du temple de Jérusalem ; 3° une parenté avec les théâtres élisabéthains ; 4° la reprise d'un modèle médiéval; 5° l'influence d'un modèle luthérien. Aucune de ces hypothèses n'est entièrement concluante. Même inspiré d'autres constructions ou modèles d'organisation, le temple Paradis a bel et bien innové dans le domaine de l'architecture religieuse. The Temple Paradis, in Lyon, painted about 1565 by Jean Périssin, is the oldest inner image of a building especially made for the reformed worship. His more or less round plan is very characteristic. Where may we find the origin of such an idea ? Here are considered five hypothesis : 1° an Italian pattern, which may be inspired by the Pantheon in Rom ; 2° a reminiscence of the Temple in Jerusalem ; 3° a parenthood with the Elisabethan theatres ; 4° the reactivation of a medieval pattern ; 5° the influence of a Lutheran pattern. None of those hypothesis is fully convincing. Even if the Temple Paradis was inspired by other buildings or funnishings, it was a real newness in the area of religious architecture. Der um 1565 von Jean Périssin gemalte Temple Paradis, in Lyon, ist die älteste Darstellung des Inneren eines speziell fur den reformierten Gottesdienst aufgebauten Kirchengebäudes, welche wir kennen. Charakteristisch ist der mehr oder weniger kreisförmige Grundriss. Aber wo ist der Ursprung dieser Idee zu finden ? Fünf Hypothesen werden erwogen : 1° ein vom Pantheon in Rom inspiriertes Muster; 2° eine Erinnerung an den Jerusalemer Tempel; 3° eine Verwandschaft mit den elisabethanen Theatern ; 4° die Wiederaufnahme eines mittehlterlichen Musters ; 5° der Einfluss eines lutherischen Musters. Keine dieser Hypothesen ist voll überzeugend. Auch wenn es von anderen Gebäuden oder Einrichtungen inspiriert wurde, gilt doch das Paradis-Kirchengebäude im Gebiet der religiösen Architektur als eine Neuerung. | ||
