Les documents présentés concernent tous la zone occupée (Nord de la France et côte atlantique); relations entre autorités allemandes et Églises protestantes (représentée principalement par le pasteur A.N. Bertrand et le pasteur Marc Boegner); attitudes protestantes devant la persécution des Juifs; attitudes protestantes concernant la Résistance française et études de cas d'implication de protestants dans la résistance. Sont également publiés, commentés et annotés le Journal de Prison du pasteur Freddy Durrleman, directeur de La Cause; les Mémoires de Jean Médard, pasteur à Rouen et ceux de sa fille Marie Médard, étudiante à Paris, résistante et déportée; différents textes concernent la région Nord-Pas-de-Calais, le pasteur suisse Marcel Pasche, le pasteur de l'Église confessante allemande Friedrich Günther et le commandant Carlo Schmid, officier dans l'administration militaire allemande, qui devait devenir après guerre un homme d'État allemand bien connu. The November 1992 S.H.P.F. Symposium on « French Protestants during the Second World War » had almost exclusively concentrated on Protestants in the so-called « free » zone under Vichy administration (not occupied by Wehrmacht until november 1942). This article deals only with the « occupied » zone (Northern France and the Atlantic Coastal border): relations of German authorities with the French Protestant Churches (chiefly two of their leaders, both ministers and in charge of the French Protestant Federation: A.N. Bertrand and Marc Boegner); Protestant attitudes towards the persecution of Jews and the Resistance movement (with a case-study of Protestant involvement). The texts of some documents are published for the first time (with notes and comments): pastor Freddy Durrleman's Jail Diary; pastor Jean Medard's War Memoirs and his daughter's, Marie Medard who was a student in Paris, involved with resistance, arrested and deported; various texts concerning the Nord-Pas-de-Calais area: the role of a Swiss minister, Marcel Pasche; of a German minister, Friedrich Günther and a member of the German occupation forces who was to become a prominent German politican: Carlo Schmid. | ||
