Regarding the relationship between faith and reason Knauer has put forward the thesis that without Christian faith, the credibility of the Christian testimony cannot be recognized. Given CR, Knauer’s theory of accounting for faith faces a number of serious problems, including that it appears to be either logically inconsistent or leading to Fideism. Knauer’s account does not lack any resources to address these problems, his theory of »anonymous faith« being one of those resources. Nevertheless, some questions concerning the interpretation and justification of Knauer’s theory remain, such as the question how Christian belief is justified via testimony, especially in the face of religious diversity. | ||
