520 |a Mār Māri's Acts reveals the Apostle of south Mesopotamia as the prominent character for the christendoms' identity in the Iranian Empire. He belongs to Jesus' LXX followers. His mission carries on the great Apostles' (Thomas, Peter and Paul). He is identified with Christ Himself-common gemellary theme in the context of apocryphal account. His authority maintains internal unity within the Persian Church, in the midst of centripetal threats. Mār Māri is also a real palladium against all doctrinal deviations: so is realised, thanks to his zeal, an active reconquest against Manichaeism in Babylonian communities. Attentively, historical levels can be distinguished, which enable the lector to understand better the redaction of christian origins.
