In this study we tried to assemble Jewish and Christian evidences for these two elements. Even if the symbolic interpretation of the pillars and the description of their capitals is very important in biblical literature, no mention of the lost pillars could be found. The theme of the « torn curtain » on the contrary made fortune both in Jewish and Christian Literature. It might therefore be presumed that both elements together stand as symbols for the eschatological Temple in our text. DO 10.1484/J.APOCRA.2.300957
