| Summary: | The fire at Boate Kiss occurred on January 27th, 2013, in the city of Santa Maria-RS, victimized 242 youths and left more than 600 injured. This article is part of an ethnographic research, which were followed different modes of organization of the victims’ families. We observed the formation of multiple, complex networks and, through a network analysis methodology, it was possible to identify the formation of a supportive network that was divided into two subnets: of justice and solidarity, based on actions and expectations of members. The formation context of family movements was surrounded by tensions and disputes, and spirituality was the link that promoted the dynamics of the supportive network. Thus, analyzing mourning and its consequences, the article deals with some elements of spirituality and collective symbolic constructions of explanation of the 'tragedy of Santa Maria'. |
