These forms of healthcare are expressions of love and healing for those created in the image of God. Sickness and death are chief consequences of the fall and are contrary to our nature as those destined for eternal communion with the Holy Trinity. Abortion and euthanasia are contrary to an Orthodox vision of healthcare, though there is no compulsion for the patient or physician to endorse care that is pointless or overly burdensome.
