Description
Summary:In the field of social ethics, no scholar has plumbed the historical and theological contours of his discipline like Gary Dorrien. Dorrien has always stressed the importance of history in analyzing his topics, pushing his readers to reflect on how past movements of Christian theology and social teaching still speak to contemporary contexts. His previous books have explored the historical and theological trajectory of American theological liberalism, analyzed the legacy of twentieth-century social Christianity, critiqued late twentieth-century movements of political neoconservatism and, most recently, explored the history of the discipline of social ethics.
